About us

The Association is an incorporated society formed under the Societies Act 1908 and is governed by a formal Constitution (rules) Click here to view the Constitution.

The Constitution may only be amended, or Rules changed by approval of Members in General Meeting held in accordance with the Rules.

The Constitution provides for:

A National Executive Board consisting of eight delegates of Ordinary Members, six of whom are appointed by Regional Branches (see below) and 2 independent directors whom are elected by Members in General Meeting.

• Up to six Regional Branches which shall convene local meetings of Members a minimum of four times per year. 
• Northern( comprising Auckland, North Harbour and Northland districts)
  
• Waikato
• Bay of Plenty districts
• Central (comprising  Wellington , Manawatu/Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, East Coast/Poverty Bay and Taranaki districts)
• South Island – Northern (comprising Tasman. Canterbury and Aorangi districts)
• South Island – Southern ( Otago and Southland districts)
• South Island – Southern Central Otago

The National Executive Board meets four to five times annually and undertakes, on a voluntary basis, management of the affairs of the Association through an Executive Officer.

Services include:

• regular newsletters
• a website for members and prospective members
• liaisons with kindred organisations such as Club Management Association of America ( CMAA), Golf Management Australia (GMA), Golf New Zealand Inc., New Zealand Golf Industry Council and the NZ Sports Turf Institute
• Hosting biennial Conferences
• promoting educational programmes for members by way of running CMAA BMI courses in New Zealand
• offering Club Benchmarking assistance to NZ Golf Clubs
• and other special projects for the betterment of the organisation and its membership.
